Win theme
A win theme is a short, evidence-backed message repeated throughout a proposal that connects your differentiators to the customer's priorities — the two or three reasons this buyer should pick you, stated in their terms and reinforced in every scored section.
Win themes convert features into evaluator arguments. A good one names the customer's hot-button issue, states your discriminator against it, and carries proof: 'Your phased occupied-campus schedule needs a contractor that has done it — our last three campus projects turned over every phase on time.' Themes are developed in capture planning, before the RFP drops, and then woven into executive summaries, section openers, and graphics rather than quarantined in one paragraph. The classic failure is the generic theme ('quality-focused partner') that any competitor could claim; if the sentence works with your rival's logo on it, it isn't a win theme.
