Answer library
An answer library is a curated repository of previously approved question-and-answer pairs, reused across questionnaires and RFPs. It accelerates recurring responses but requires constant curation — every stored answer ages independently and drifts from current truth.
Answer libraries were the response industry's first systematization: capture the approved answer once, retrieve it every time the question recurs. At DDQ and security-questionnaire volume the model earns its keep, but its costs compound with scale — near-duplicate entries, ownership ambiguity, review cycles that lapse, and the quiet danger of a confidently stale answer contradicting current policy. The successor model grounds generation in a knowledge base of source documents instead: answers are produced per question from currently-true sources and cited against them, so freshness is inherited from documents you already maintain rather than enforced entry by entry. Libraries don't disappear in that model; they shrink to genuinely fixed content while everything derivative is generated.
