SAM.gov
SAM.gov (System for Award Management) is the US federal government's registration and opportunity portal: companies must register there to be awarded federal contracts, and its Contract Opportunities section publishes solicitations, sources-sought notices, and awards.
SAM.gov consolidates what were once separate systems (CCR, FBO/FedBizOpps, and others) into the front door of federal contracting. Registration — entity validation, UEI issuance, representations and certifications — is free but bureaucratically real, and it must be active and current at award time; expirations quietly disqualify. As an opportunity source, its value is in the upstream signals as much as the solicitations: sources-sought and presolicitation notices reveal requirements early enough for capture work, and award data shows who wins what, at what value, under which NAICS codes. Saved searches by code and agency make it the baseline pipeline feed for federal-market responders.
